IMPORTANT: The great thing about this visa is that you don’t need to know English or Danish to apply, because it’s not a requirement, and there are no limits on the number of spots available!!!

This program allows young Argentines to spend a vacation in Denmark, with the option to work part-time during the validity period of the granted visa.
The residence permit will be valid for a maximum of 12 months. The main purpose of your stay must be vacation, but you may work during your stay to earn funds to support your trip.
This visa also allows you to study or take a training course for a limited period of time.
HOW TO APPLY
You can apply for the WH residence permit at any time of the year.
The only way to apply for the Denmark Working Holiday visa from Argentina is in person in Buenos Aires, but keep in mind that you can apply for this visa from abroad or within Denmark itself, where you have the option to apply online.
The application form (WH1) can be obtained from the website www.newtodenmark.dk. Carefully follow the instructions provided on the form and be sure to attach the specified documentation.
If you fill out the form by hand, write in clear, capital letters in English.
As a general rule, you must obtain the permit before traveling to Denmark, and the application must be submitted at the VFS Service Center in Buenos Aires. Only in exceptional cases may the application be submitted in Denmark, and in such cases, special consideration is given to the reason why the applicant is already in the country.
Those who decide to travel before obtaining the visa do so at their own risk.
We recommend reviewing the information available at www.newtodenmark.dk.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
You must make an appointment at the VFS office; they will forward your application to the Danish Embassy in Buenos Aires, which will complete the process with DIS-STAR in Denmark.
The documentation must be submitted as follows:
- A4 size (if the original document is letter size, you must make a reduced photocopy; the document must be fully visible on the photocopy—no parts may be cut off)
- Single-sided (NOT double-sided)
- No staples, paper clips, or ties of any kind
- Loose documents (receipts, ATM slips, etc.) will not be accepted. You must make a clear photocopy on an A4-sized sheet and submit only the photocopy.
Appointments can be requested by phone, email, or through the appointment schedule found on the VFS website in Buenos Aires. VFS will only receive your documentation; they are not responsible for approving visas.

- Working Holiday Form
- Passport and photocopies
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to submit the items listed above.
2. PURCHASE A ROUND-TRIP TICKET TO DENMARK OR PROVE YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PURCHASE ONE.
If you only purchased a one-way ticket (THIS IS MANDATORY), you must demonstrate funds of DKK 5,000 (USD 754) to purchase the return ticket to your home country
Regarding the return ticket, if the return is scheduled for within 3 months of the departure date, you must prove that the return ticket can be changed to a date when your visa expires. If your ticket cannot be changed, you must prove you have the funds to pay for a return ticket.
3- PURCHASE TRAVEL MEDICAL INSURANCE
You must purchase a 1-year travel medical insurance policy that includes repatriation coverage.
4- PROVE SUFFICIENT FUNDS
The amount you must demonstrate to support yourself in Denmark is DKK 15,000 (USD 2,263). This amount is fixed and is in addition to the cost of the tickets explained in point 2 of this article.
Apply with a one-way ticket only: you must demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself in Denmark—DKK 15,000 (USD 2,263) plus the equivalent of a DKK 5,000 (USD 754) ticket; the total is DKK 20,000 (USD 3,017)
Applying WITH a round-trip ticket: you must demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself in Denmark of only DKK 15,000 (USD 2,263)
The money must be deposited in an account, and that account must be in your name.
If you are working, you likely have a savings account; if you are not working, you can apply for a “universal account,” which does not require a pay stub, as long as you present your ID, CUIL, and proof of taxes in your name.
Proof of funds can be provided through
- A bank account statement
- A printout from online banking
- Proof of CBU and ATM receipts
- Time deposits
Credit cards and cash are not accepted.
5- COMPLETE THE FORM
Fill out the Working Holiday Form with your information in capital letters and sign it by hand
You can download the form here
6- SUBMIT PASSPORT AND PHOTOCOPIES
You must present your passport and black-and-white photocopies of all passport pages, including the front and back covers and any blank pages. This is a personal process; no one else can do it for you. You must have a passport valid for at least 180 days from the date you submit the application.
The copies must be completely legible (preferably in color, especially the page containing the photo and the holder’s information) and ALL stamps must be clearly visible.
The pages must be shown in their entirety and must appear in sequential order (not mixed up). The photocopy must be A4 size (if the original is a different size, you must make a reduced-size photocopy), single-sided (NOT double-sided), and must not be stapled or contain paper clips or ties of any kind. Also, please note that you must make photocopies of the entire passport, including all blank pages for visas.
7- SHOW UP ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT WITH ALL DOCUMENTS
Remember to bring all the documentation mentioned above and your passport. You must have all documents printed on A4 paper.
At that time, they will review all your documents to verify that everything is complete and will upload the information to the system. They will also collect some biometric data (photos and fingerprints) and finally give you a RECEIPT, which you must then pay.
You must leave your passport at the VFS office. Please note that the approval process can take up to 3 months.
VFS offers an additional service to send you updates on the progress of your application for a fee of ARS 25. You can track your application via:
