Argentina and Sweden signed a treaty allowing young Argentinians to enter Sweden and stay there on vacation, offering them the opportunity to engage in paid work to help cover their stay, gain work experience, and improve their knowledge of the other country’s language, culture, and society.
What are you waiting for to apply for the visa? The good news is that there are no quotas, meaning you can apply whenever you want!
REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a passport issued by the Argentine Republic that is valid for at least the duration of your Working Holiday Visa
- Be between 18 and 30 years of age, inclusive (at the time of application)
- Have a return ticket or demonstrate that you have sufficient financial resources to purchase one
- Have a minimum of SEK 15,000 (USD 1,620) available for at least the initial period of your stay
- Have comprehensive medical and hospitalization insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, including medical repatriation and repatriation of remains, valid for the duration of your stay
- Pay the visa application fee of SEK 1,500 (USD 149) using only a Visa or Mastercard.
- Do not travel accompanied by dependent family members
Argentine nationals may apply for the vacation and work visa online on the embassy’s website by selecting “Begin application” and following the steps.
You must apply within 6 months of your travel date.
DOCUMENTS YOU MUST SUBMIT
These documents must be attached when applying online. Accepted file formats include PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, PNG, RTF, or TXT. Each file must not exceed 2 megabytes (MB).
Another detail to keep in mind is that the entire online application process is in English or Swedish; it is not available in Spanish. But don’t worry—it’s very simple.

Copies of the pages of your passport showing personal information, photo, signature, passport number, and expiration date. If your passport is about to expire, you’ll need to renew it.

Bank statement showing that you can cover your expenses for the first few months in Sweden (USD 1,800)

Show a round-trip ticket or prove that you have sufficient funds to pay for the return trip.

Travel insurance for a minimum of EUR 30,000, covering medical repatriation and repatriation of remains, valid for the duration of your stay
After completing all the steps online, you will receive an email confirming that the application has been received and is being processed, and you will be given a tracking number, which you can use to check the status of your application.
The embassy takes between 30 and 90 days to respond.
Once you receive the response approving your visa, you’re all set to travel to Sweden!!!
