Andorra is a principality located outside the Schengen Area, and its government offers work permits so that people from around the world can work and explore this beautiful European country.
Andorra is a destination you can choose to work in for a season.
Unlike Working Holiday visas, for Andorra you need to obtain a work permit, better known as a green card, which we’ll explain below.
Green Card or Work Permit
The work permit or green card must be processed by the employer. The advantage of having this card is that once you finish a job, you can apply for another one without having to get a new one. This permit costs around EUR 180 (USD 202) and is paid for by the employer.
Can it be processed before arriving in the country?
No, this work permit is provided by the person hiring them, which means they will definitely have to travel to the country to get the job and have the employer process their visa.
What you can do before traveling is check that you have all the necessary documentation and start looking at the websites that offer jobs.
The duration of this visa will depend on how long your employer decides to hire you. Most employers hire for the entire season, which can last between 4 and 6 months.

REQUIREMENTS
The requirements to obtain a visa and work in Andorra if you do not have a European passport are as follows:
- Passport: original + photocopies.
- Photo: 2 passport-sized photos with a white background.
- Resume: showing 2 years of experience in the position you are applying for. Work experience is a mandatory requirement.
- Letter of Recommendation: a letter issued by a former employer stating the start and end dates of your employment with that company and your position. Templates are available online. It must be signed by a company representative.
- Criminal record certified with a Hague Apostille: Please note that the Apostille is valid for up to 3 months.
- Proof of Address: If you have a lease agreement, provide that; otherwise, provide a certificate issued by the place where you are currently residing.
If you have a European Union passport, the following requirements apply in addition to those mentioned above:
- At least one year of work experience.
- Criminal record from the country of your European citizenship, even if you have never lived there.
Since this last requirement is often too cumbersome, many choose to apply directly as Argentine citizens.
There is no age requirement to apply for these work permits.
If you are married, you must submit a marriage certificate issued by the civil registry and apostilled. If you are divorced, you will be asked to provide a certificate of marital status issued by the civil registry and apostilled.
PROCEDURE
Once you have secured a job, the contracts are in writing, and there is a specific procedure to follow if you are selected:
Interview
The first step is to have an interview with the company to which you applied for the position.
Submission of Documentation
After the interview, you will be asked to submit all the necessary documentation to obtain a residence permit.
Compiling the file and submitting it to immigration.
The company handles this step.
Immigration will contact you to schedule a medical exam.
Immigration will contact you to schedule a medical exam to verify that you are fit to work. It’s similar to when, in Argentina, you’re sent to take psychometric tests.
Green card and employment contract.
You’re now ready to start seasonal work in Andorra!
How long does this process take?
If the company has an agent, that person will help you with every step; if not, you’ll have to do it on your own, but you’ll find it’s quite simple. The process itself usually takes about a week.
