During our trip in the Eje Cafetero region in Colombia, we discovered some natural thermal hot springs converted into a resort in the mountains of Santa Rosa del Cabal. It took quite the drive to get there, about 1 hour, as it is high up in the mountains at a level of 2300 meters.
As we wanted to have a good rest before the drive back to Bucaramanga, we decided to make a reservation and spend our last night in this resort called San Vicente Reserva Termal.
We reserved a cabin for 5 people, although we ended up going 4 as one of us became incapacitated and had to fly back to Bucaramanga. The cabin had one double bed and one bunk bed with a double bed at the bottom and a single bed on top. There’s a basic bathroom with toilet and shower, and you can access a private terrace from the room. The terrace has a hammock and a small bath, which was sadly not working.

The place is really beautiful, lots of nature around and the thermal baths are amazing. This is our top 3:
- Terma de los huéspedes: only available for hotel guests. People with a daypass are not allowed to use this thermal bath.
- Río termal: a hot water river surrounded by nature. As this thermal bath is a bit hidden there were no people when we were there.
- Laguna termal: the highest thermal pool from the 5 most public pools. It has a wooden wall to one side where cold water is pouring from, but the pool itself is quite hot.

- During breakfast, the eggs we got served were cold. And when I ordered an espresso, it was also served cold (and not included in the reservation, so I had to pay extra for it).
- We got a partial refund for the person that could not make it, but we were only able to use it as credit in the restaurant or the small shop.
To summarize: a few things could be better, for example breakfast, but in general it’s very much worth it to visit this thermal resort, because it is a spectacular place. You can make a reservation through the official website of the resort: https://www.sanvicente.com.co/
