La Recova
La Recova is a legendary spot in Málaga. A combination of a crafts and antiques shop and a restaurant serving local cuisine, it offers one of the most traditional breakfasts you can find in downtown Málaga.
The traditional breakfast consists of a slice of rustic bread baked in a wood-fired oven, accompanied by several small bowls of homemade spreads, including:
- pork loin spread
- pork rinds
- sobrasada
- two fruit jams
- butter
- crushed tomatoes
It’s served with coffee included for the round price of €3! You can also order breakfast with fresh-squeezed orange juice for €3.30.
If you want coffee and juice, it comes to €4.80.

The best thing about this place is being surrounded by antiques. Personally, I don’t know many places with such unique decor. They’re open until after lunch since they serve tapas too!
They have tables inside the shop, but they also have a terrace outside the entrance.
Although it’s more special to sit inside because of the decor and the crafts. This place is dog-friendly, so I always bring Flippy when I go there for breakfast.

It’s best to go early for breakfast since a line starts forming after 9 a.m.!
